Rural Still Life, the latest album by Tom Scott, is a beautifully crafted collection of instrumental pieces that transport the listener to the heart of the countryside. I named the song "Rural Still Life #26" as a ironic commentary on the titling of art works. Many artists would title their works "Still Life" and number them. So I decided this would be Still Life No 26. The irony is only that it is the only "still life" I ever composed! (ha, ha… go with it). However the real irony is… the cover photograph was the idea of a photographic "still life"… if you will… and the ranch that this photo was taken later became Charles Manson's ranch (!)… yes! BELIEVE IT!

I've been looking for this song for 40 years. Thanks for posting it. I remember going to the Hollywood Bowl for the Battle of the Bands night and listening to the Neoteric Trio (a very early Tom Scott group--1967-68) and been a fan of this "phenom" ever since.
